Board of Directors Meeting
July 28, 2008

The meeting convened at 6PM. 

Introductions
	Mike introduced the members of the board of directors.

Background
	Mike provided historical information regarding Joseph's Project and described its current activities. The Project is currently serving five families. The Project recently received 501(c)3 non-profit status, allowing supporters to make tax-deductible contributions.
	
Review mission statement
	The board reviewed and approved the mission statement
	
	The Joseph Project is dedicated to serving our community by providing food to
	those in need. Your donation of food collected here and at other businesses
	in the area will be distributed to families in Worcester and the surrounding
	area. This Project is run by and through local businesses who wish to give
	back to their community.
	
Discussion 
	The board discussed various fund-raising and organizational topics, including:
	- Coordinating activities with Wachusett Food Pantry
	- Engaging children's groups in various fund-raising and food-collection projects
	- Development of "Friends and Family" letters to seek donations and support.
	- Postal charges, stationery, and related office materials and expenses.
	- Halloween fund-raising party.
	
Election of Officers
	The following were elected as officers. No term limit was specified.
	President - Mike Hakkarainen
	Vice-President - Steve Johnson
	Treasurer - Colleen Adams
	Secretary - Karl Hakkarainen
	
	Colleen and Mike are authorized to write checks and handle other financial transactions for the Project.
	The Board agreed that 1010 Main Street, Holden will be the mailing address for the Project. 
	
Action Items
	The following action items were assigned:
	- Mike - Business cards, stationery, and logo.
	- Karl - Distribute contact information for board (available in a separate email)
	- Lynn - Draft a letter regarding the Project to be read at St. Mary's.
	- Rich - Explore Halloween party, including hall rental, entertainment, tickets.
	- Steve - Contact St. Mary's regarding Wachusett Food Pantry history
	- Sheila - Draft letter for distribution to supporters. Contact Worcester County Food Bank regarding relationship
			   and support.
	- Fr. Fred - Provide sample Family and Friends letter. Research printing services.
	- Colleen - Research printing services
	
The meeting adjourned at 7PM. Next meeting will be in August at a date and time to be determined.
