Review Mission Statement
The board reviewed the mission statement and agreed that it reflects
the purpose of the project. The board may, at a later date, refine the
mission statement once short- and long-term goals are defined.
Goals
Mike asked that all of the board members identify short-term goals (3-6
months) and long-term goals and to bring those goals for discussion at
the next meeting. Examples of goals include preparation of grant
proposals for additional funding, fund-raising letters to
organizations, families, and friends, and inviting other organizations
to participate.
Deliveries
Colleen has a draft of a letter that will accompany future deliveries.
The letter describes Joseph's Project and how the food is collected and
distributed.
Halloween Party
Rich presented information about the Halloween fund-raising party. The
party will be held on October 24th at the Harold W. Keith
American Legion Hall on Hartwell Street in West Boylston. The post is
donating the use of the hall. Rich is arranging for music, food, setup,
decorations, and cleanup. Rich is providing receipts on behalf of the
project to those organizations and individuals who donate goods or
services.
Fund-Raising
The board agreed to send a fund-raising letter to organizations,
families, and friends in November. Colleen is arranging for letterhead
stationery and envelopes that will be used for the mailing and other
project correspondence.
Other Topics
- Mike is arranging for business cards for the members of the board.
- Colleen will contact the Wachusett Pop Warner football program
regarding a food drive.
- The board discussed the possible need of additional storage space
for food.
Next Meeting
The next board meeting will take place on October 15 at 5:30PM (note
time change) at 53 Raymond Street.
