Review of minutes from previous meeting

Minutes were approved without comment.

Discussion

Sheila Diggins has submitted her letter of resignation from the Board. Mike will send a letter on behalf of the Board, expressing our gratitude for her service and for the experience she brought at the start of the Project.

The Board discussed the following items.

Balance is $5,273
Holden Days was a success. There were many visitors to the booth, including State Sen. Harriet Chandler. Several groups expressed interest in support Joseph's Project with contributions, food drives, and other projects. We also collected $70 from donations.
Oriol Health Care offered to provide assistance with our Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets.
A family celebrating a wedding anniversary at St. Mary's asked that, in lieu of gifts, guest make food and other donations to Joseph's Project. Mike collected several boxes of food from these donations.
The Board decided to postpone the car wash fund-raiser until spring.
Rich will contact Carlene Smith at Mountview School with a donation of $100 for students in need of lunch money and to ask Carlene if another family is need of assistance.
Karl will contact Karen Halley regarding Wachusett Food Pantry registration and Joseph's Project's policy of anonymity for its clients. Karl will also discuss sharing surplus food between the two organizations.
The Board discussed shopping needs for the upcoming weeks.
Karl will prepare a draft of the Friennds and Family letter. Each Board member will distribute at least 10 letters shortly after Thanksgiving.

Halloween Party

Halloween party will be held on FOctober 30, 2009, at West Boylston American Legion Post #204. Note date change. at the West Boylston Post #204.

Rich has arranged for pizzas, decorations.

Karl will prepare tickets which Rich will print. Tickets are $20.
